The Xu group is interested in:
- Synthesizing one-dimensional (1D) nanomaterials, with a focus on boron-based materials
- Studying mechanical properties of individual 1D nanostructures
- Exploring thermoelectric properties of boron-based 1D nanostructures
- Developing functional nanocomposites
Research projects were/are funded by National Science Foundation, Lockheed Martin Coorporation, American Chemical Soceity-Petrolumn Research Fund and UNC Charlotte Junior Faculty award.
