MEGR 3161: Introduction to Engineering Materials

This course discusses (1) crystal structures of materials, (2) defects in materials, (3) diffusion models for materials, (4) mechanical behavior of materials, (5) dislocations and strengthening mechanisms, (6) fracture of materials and (7) phase diagrams of materials. The course helps undergraduate students to understand the structure-property relationship of a material.  The final grade is based on 9 homework,  3 tests and 1 optional final examination.

This course is offered every semester.
