This past week, I had the privilege of attending the Charlotte Aviation Innovation and Research Institute’s Airport Engineering Meeting, held on October 7th and 8th, 2024. The event brought together leading experts, engineers, and researchers from around the globe to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in airport engineering.

Agenda Highlights

1. Airline Industry Trends: The meeting kicked off with an in-depth exploration of current and emerging trends in the airline industry. Discussions covered everything from the impact of new technologies on airline operations to shifts in passenger preferences and behaviors. These insights are crucial for anticipating future demands and shaping our strategies accordingly.

2. Concrete Pavements: A significant portion of the agenda was dedicated to advancements in concrete pavement technology. Presentations highlighted innovative materials and construction techniques that enhance the durability and sustainability of airport runways and taxiways.
