Ph.D. and M.S. Students:

Luocheng Wang    

Luocheng received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, USA in 2014 and his M.Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University in 2016. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree with a focus on high-frequency low-voltage power conversion and power converter design in the charging system.

 

Yafeng Wang  

Yafeng received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 2015 and his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University in 2017. He is pursuing his Ph.D. degree with a focus on grid-edge power electronics and voltage regulators.

 

Xiwen Xu  

Xiwen received her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Shenyang Jianzhu University, China in 2014 and her M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2018. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree with a focus on wireless power transfer for train applications.

 

Haichen Liu 

Haichen received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China in 2016 and 2019, respectively. For his BS and MS work, he performed research in DC/AC micro-grids and three-level inverters. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree with a focus on the Si IGBT and SiC MOSFET hybrid switch and its application in three-level A-NPC inverters.

 

Kamal Chandra Paul  

Kamal has received his BS degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh in 2009 and an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas State University, USA in 2018. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering. His research focus is on arc fault protection using Artificial Intelligence and Solid-State Circuit Breakers.

 

Shangze Chen  

Shangze received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeast Electric Power University, China in 2019 and his M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA in 2020. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree with a focus on Solid-State Circuit Breaker.

 

Jiale Zhou 

Jiale received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Anhui University of Technology, Maanshan, China in 2014 and his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, China in 2018. He worked as a DSP software engineer at Hopewind Electric Co., Ltd., Shenzhen, China in 2018 and at Goodwe Power Supply Technology Co., Ltd., Suzhou, China in 2020. He is pursuing his Ph.D. degree with a focus on grid-edge power electronics.

 

Linus Schweizer 

Linus received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2019 and is currently enrolled as a master student at KIT. He is doing a research internship as part of the transatlantic energy research exchange program between KIT and EPIC, focusing on Arc Fault Protection using Artificial Intelligence.

 

Mason Sun  

Mason received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Shandong University, China in 2002.  He worked as a technology manager at Shandong Luneng Aote Technology, China, and then a mechanic at Little M Car Sales in Raleigh, NC.  He is pursuing his M.S. degree with a focus on the electric trolley with wireless power transfer and 49ers Racing Formula SAE EV.
