Brief Biography
Dr. Roger Tipton is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), where he leads the Performance Materials Lab (PML). He seamlessly integrates decades of diverse industry leadership with rigorous academic research and teaching.
Research and Materials Expertise
Dr. Tipton is a recognized authority in advanced materials, focusing on composite, polymer, and sustainable materials. His research is driven by a commitment to developing materials with enhanced performance, durability, and a reduced environmental footprint. His research also includes what happens to materials when we are done with them and his research into clean water is a result of this commitment.
