A number of projects aiming to develop novel composite materials and sustainable materials frequently become available in the laboratory. Postdoctoral researchers, PhD, Masters students, and undergraduate students are welcome to join our group if positions are available.
Undergraduate Students
Extraordinary undergraduate students with a desire to gain research experience with a strong GPA above 3.0 and completion of foundational courses in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, and physics should contact Dr. Roger Tipton about their interest in participating in research projects.
Masters Students
The student is required to have a good understanding of mechanical engineering, materials science, or chemical engineering – with experience in the field of composite materials or sustainable materials a distinct advantage. The student will need to demonstrate adaptability to the multidisciplinary nature of the projects. Masters students are encouraged to contact Dr. Roger Tipton to express their interest.
PhD Students
PhD opportunities with research and university-funded scholarships are available each year, both to domestic and international students.
Key criteria
Domestic students –The students should have strong academic track record. The student’s research and academic background should be in one or more of materials sciences, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related science disciplines.
International students – For an international student, the student is expected to have a very strong academic and research background in a relevant field. The students are likely to have an overall IELTS score of 7 or above with a minimum of 6.5 score in each band.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Fellowship opportunities are available each year, both to domestic and international candidates.
