Visit to MIT and Harvard

Wrapped up my time in Boston after the fantastic AIChE conference with a couple of truly inspiring visits to two of the world’s leading academic powerhouses!

First stop was MIT’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The energy of innovation there is palpable—from new structural materials and quantum computing applications to advanced biomaterials and sustainable energy solutions. Saw some groundbreaking work in rapid materials discovery fueled by AI.

Then, a short trip to Harvard’s Materials Science & Mechanical Engineering program. Their focus on soft matter, bio-inspired robotics, and the mechanics of biological systems was particularly fascinating. Great conversations around the future of materials for advanced health and medical applications.

It’s clear that the future of engineering lies at the intersection of materials, computation, and sustainability. Huge thanks to the faculty and researchers at both institutions for their time and hospitality.

Feeling energized and full of ideas to bring back to the Performance Materials Lab!
