Transformative Computer Systems and Architecture Research (TeCSAR) has been established in August 2016 under the direction of Dr. Hamed Tabkhi. TeCSAR research mission is on next-generation computer architecture and design methodologies to address societal challenges in health, safety, and assistance. To this end, TeCSAR primary focuses on emerging data analytic and signal-processing applications such as real-time embedded vision, deep learning, cyber-physical systems, and robotics. In TeCSAR, our aim is to bridge the gap between the growing complexity of algorithms, e.g. machine learning and deep learning, and architecture execution efficiency by raising abstraction and architecture awareness. We design, architect and implement novel heterogeneous many-core platforms that consume little power (few watts) while offering enough compute power to run complex algorithms for low-cost, widespread deployment.
