Biomimetic functional structures and material fabrication via advanced manufacturing
Inspired by natural architectures, our research seeks to understand the fundamental design principles and mechanisms that give rise to multifunctionality in biological systems. Rather than simply replicating natural structures, we apply these principles to engineer novel architectures that integrate sensing, biomedical, and functional performance. From flexible humidity sensors for health monitoring to biocompatible scaffolds for tissue engineering, our work bridges biology and engineering to create devices that address pressing challenges in healthcare and beyond.
