Roozbeh holds BSc and MSc degrees, in electrical engineering, power systems, from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. His research was mainly focused on transmission network expansion planning and electricity markets. He joined the power delivery innovation group at UNC Charlotte in Fall 2016 as a Ph.D. student.
Roozbeh is currently working on centralized and decentralized distributed energy resource management systems for active distribution networks including multiple renewable energy sources, energy storage units, and behind-the-meter PV and battery. He is also interested in operation strategy for distributed storage units in order to provide multiple services.
Research Areas:
- Distributed energy resource management systems
- Battery energy storage system scheduling for multiple applications
- Sizing and placement of distributed energy storage units across the distribution feeder
- Data-driven linearized power flow
