I grew up in Connecticut, where I attended the University of Connecticut for my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer and electrical engineering, respectively.  I started my career locally at Kerite Cables as an Applications Engineer and later the Engineering Labs Manager, where I designed and tested 5-138 kV underground power cables.  I moved down to NC in 2011 and am currently a Senior Design Engineer at Southwire’s cable factory, now designing solid dielectric cables and cables systems up to 500 kV.  I’ve been in the Electrical Engineering PhD program at UNCC since 2012, focusing in power systems.  I am currently working on my dissertation, which involves the solution and optimization of AC resistance in large mixed medium power conductors.
