{"id":127,"date":"2015-07-13T14:23:29","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T18:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coefs.charlotte.edu\/okeen\/?p=127"},"modified":"2025-01-08T19:37:52","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T00:37:52","slug":"nicole-kennedy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coefs.charlotte.edu\/okeen\/2015\/07\/nicole-kennedy\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicole Kennedy Neth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nicole graduated with her PhD in Infrastructure and Environmental Systems in 2018.\u00a0 Prior to that she received her Bachelor\u2019s degree from Florida State University in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry and a Master of Public Health degree from Eastern Kentucky University with a concentration in Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene. Her PhD research focused on contaminants of emerging concern in environmental systems.<\/p>\n<p>She has been inducted into Phi Kappa Phi academic honors society, Torch Bearers student leaders, and received the JumpStart education award for commitment to serving underdeveloped communities.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole studied abroad for a semester in Iquitos, Peru where she worked in a rural health setting and conducted ecological research on the orthongo (large tiger) and deforestation in the Amazon Rain Forest. She also performed community-building service work in Grois Morne, Haiti where she worked on a major project reconstructing a schoolhouse.<\/p>\n<p>She is currently a Human Health Toxicologist\/Exposure Scientist with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Publications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1039\/C7EW00215G\">Kennedy Neth, N.
