Parallel Computing Cluster

Thanks to generous donations of surplus computers from the UNC Charlotte College of Engineering Mosaic Computing Group  we have established a local parallel computing cluster to enable efficient global optimization algorithms for finite element model updating/calibration.  The cluster allows us to run up to 12 simultaneous finite element analyses (through custom developed Matlab code and the SAP2000 OpenAPI Interface library) for parallel optimization techniques, such as genetic algorithm.  Currently, our laboratory computing resources consist of:
