Our research focus is in the area of m<\/strong><\/em>icrobial water quality<\/strong>, metagenomics<\/strong>, antibiotic resistance in the environment<\/strong> and sustainable water\/wastewater treatment<\/strong>. Other areas of interest are bioremediation, microalgae, opportunistic premise plumbing pathogens analysis, biochar, and bio-concrete. The Environmental Microbiology laboratory combines techniques in molecular, cellular biology, and microbiology to address interdisciplinary environmental and public health issues.
