Our research focus is in the area of microbial water quality, metagenomics, antibiotic resistance in the environment and sustainable water/wastewater treatment. Other areas of interest are bioremediation, microalgae, opportunistic premise plumbing pathogens analysis, biochar, and bio-concrete. The Environmental Microbiology laboratory combines techniques in molecular, cellular biology, and microbiology to address interdisciplinary environmental and public health issues.
